Moderation Policy

Last updated 13 September 2026

Why we moderate

Every review on Australia Motors goes through email verification and a spam-and-authenticity check before it can be seen publicly. Moderation exists to keep the site useful, not to filter out honest criticism — a poor review of a good-selling car is exactly the kind of content this site exists to publish.

How the process works

  1. Email verification. Every submission must confirm a real, working email address within 24 hours or it never becomes visible.
  2. Automated screening. Verified submissions are scored for spam signals: honeypot fields, submission speed, duplicate content, link spam and disposable email patterns.
  3. Safe automatic publication. Submissions that clear screening with a low risk score and pass basic completeness checks are published automatically.
  4. Human review queue. Anything flagged as uncertain or higher-risk is held for a person to review before it can publish — it is never auto-rejected without a human decision.

What gets rejected

We reject submissions that are not from a genuine owner, that target a person rather than a vehicle, that contain unlawful or defamatory content, or that are clearly promotional or unrelated to vehicle ownership.

Appeals

If your review was rejected and you believe that was a mistake, use the Content Dispute Process to ask us to take another look.
